I know this is dumb, and I never had this type of problem with my windows version, but I can't seem to make the album cover art to display.

I Googled the problem in vain I'm afraid. All the solutions that are supposed to display the cover art in the preferences panel simply don't apply to my version.I'm running VLC 2.2.1.
I also like to add that if I right click on the song, and choose 'Media Information', I can see my cover art.
